jessie + nick { pre-wedding – part 1 }

Part I

If I had my way, life would be filled with live music. Everywhere I’d go, there’d be a guitarist strumming his strings, or a pianist playing her chords. I’d be at the grocery store, picking the ripest, sweetest fruit, and there’d be a flautist playing lovely music in my ear, helping me along with my selection. Wouldn’t life just be so much more amazing with live music? I like to think so.

I met Nick and Jessie on a hot summery day in a raining season, and Nick had an old Olympus OM-1. “Surely it’s a prop,” I thought. But it wasn’t. He snap few photos using that old camera that he brought all the way from Hong Kong for his gorgeous fiance Jessie, while I floated off into a dreamy space where all I saw was beauty and love. It was as if my creative senses came alive whilst listening to Jo’s making jokes to make Jessie laugh. It. Was. Bliss.

Needless to say, looking over these images takes me back to that hot morning; a beautiful couple in love; a quiet acoustic sound filling the woodsy air. Hope you can feel the sounds through these images too. 🙂

A few more series will coming to you soon. Just you wait

shoes off, lets take a break

Hi everyone. How’s everything going around you? 2012 is just around the corner. I am taking a break until late January for any occasion. For the last few months, or maybe since January 2011, I’ve been photography hundreds of beautiful moments about 50 wedding ceremonies & plenty of portraits session all over this country. I love being a destination wedding photographer, or at least travel to other than my hometown to shoot wedding & portraits. I am very happy about it. I love being in and amongst all the cultural sitting in the room and it pleases me to no end that I got to witness their union every weekends. I’m going to do the same thing in 2012, but on a very limited numbers. *In order to give each client my full creative energy, I only take a limited number of weddings a year. (aka I book up fast and don’t offer any discounts.)*

I have a lots of photos to be loaded in here, but I have very limited supply of bandwidth since my blog hits have been increasing rapidly for this few month. If you ever experienced unable to load my blog, it means that you have to wait until next January to view my photos. Or else, you may visit my Facebook Fan Page, Foto by Razali to get the latest updates on everything that happen around me. So lets have a break for a while. Till then, see ya.

amsyar new ride

20111228-083950.jpg

Just yesterday, we stop by a bicycle shop on our way to Batu Pahat. I saw a really nice bike that can carry 40kg of loads and can also put a toddler on it.

So I put Amsyar on it and ride around the shop. He was so excited! By the time I take him away, he cried… The main purpose I went there was just to buy a seat that can carry him on my mom’s bicycle. Unfortunately the seat doesn’t look safe for a toddler. I really like the bicycle, and so does Amsyar + my wife. So I spent few hundreds bucks to get this bicycle home. I’m broke. Lol.

We had a few minutes ride yesterday once we reaches home. And today I spent an hour riding him to Sawah Sagil. He was so happy about it. I’ll make this my daily routine if possible when I’m not working.

hani + yazid { the wedding – melaka }

Hani & Yazid (1)

Hani & Yazid were married on friday, in front of all of their beautiful family and friends. The weather was shiny. Like, super duper sun shiny. In fact, two days later, I can still feel the heat on my pores. Even my heart felt warm! (Although I could safely say that that particular warmth was caused by the love these two shared for one another.) Family from Umbai and all over Malaysia came to celebrate them. And having gotten to know these two, it doesn’t surprise me one bit that they travelled all this way to witness their big day.

They came to my office few month ago to save the date and discuss details of their wedding ceremony. Yazid asked me weather I can shoot in front of everyone at Jonker Street, Melaka. I said It would be wonderful experience! So on their wedding day, we go to few other places for portraiture session & Jonker street was the last place we visit. It was really pack with tourist from local & international. I ask them not to move a bit while everyone look at them, I shoot from pretty far away from them to make sure everything around is captured. They did it sucessfully! I’m really proud of them to fight my challenge.

Hani & Yazid, wishing you both the happiest of happy lives together. May there be much more laughter, fruit picking, and travelling in store for you both. Much much much love.

happy birthday amsyar!

Amsyar 1st Birthday

So this is how 1 year boy looks like. Energetic! He only sleep for 2 hours yesterday, so excited to celebrate his birthday. Even after his celebration, Amsyar doesn’t even tired at all. He spends few more hours unboxing presents he get from our dear friends. Only after 10pm, when we drove out to get dinner, he fall asleep.

Thanks everyone for coming to our celebration, and not to forget the presents! Happy birthday Amsyar!

NOT JUST A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER…

I’M A WEDDING & PORTRAITS PHOTOGRAPHER BECAUSE…

There is no story to how or why I became a wedding & portraits photographer I’m afraid. But I did, which is the main thing you need to know. And I do it full time. And I love it.

I am a photographer because I fell in love with photography. I’m obsessed with it. It consumes me. I need to take photos of life as it passes us by, and that’s why I feel so lucky to do this for a ‘job’ and to capture people’s extra special occassions and life moments for them. No cliche, it’s true. I hate cliche’s so it must be true.

I LOVE JOHOR

I have grown up in Ayer Hitam, have lived here my whole life, been to school here, back from college, met my wife here and built my life here. I love this place, I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I’d love to have a place in Batu Pahat and one in Kluang and split my time between these favourite places. BUT I love to travel. If you follow my blog for the last few months, I’ve been to Kedah, Terengganu, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Cameron Highlands & all over Malaysia for wedding & portraits photography.

LETS MEET

Set a meeting with me to experience in person how do I look and what I am offering. Email me you details to razali@heroes.my. I would love to hear from you.

see you guys again

ain + saofie { the wedding – Batu Pahat }

Ain & Saofie - Batu Pahat (1)

They didn’t meet face to face for months; only exchanging emails and phone throughout their courtship. Saofie is teaching in Sarawak while Ain teaching here in Batu Pahat. But they have been in relationship since school! And when they decided to tie the knot at last, their eyes filled up with as much love as their hearts already had for one another. Isn’t love is such a beautiful thing? Both of them teaching arts, and so their parents as well. When I entered the house, I was amaze by the artworks of uncle Hashim, Ain’s dad.

Ain & Saofie: you are both such beautiful souls and gorgeous people. Thank you for giving me the honour of coming to witness your love story unfold in front of all your loved ones who came from near and far to celebrate you. It’s a ceremony that will forever replay in my head – it was that beautiful.

amsyar is 1!!

Arif Amsyar 1 Years Old

A year ago, at this very moment, I was in front of labor room waiting for my precious one to come out and see the world. 1.50am on 17th of December 2010, Arif Amsyar was born. He brings joy to me and my wife. And so do everyone around us. Alhamdulillah…

I am very thankful for everyone who always follow how Amsyar’s doing. Just few hours ago, I receive an email from my blog reader who hide his/her identity asking me to beware while bringing Amsyar to the place we shoot. This kind person notice from one of the photo, Amsyar was chewing a poisonous flowers called Yellow Jessamine. I was terribly shock. I am so thankful someone notice and even remind me not to do that again.

We live in a ‘kampung’, I was grown up in a place where snakes can be easily seen crawling near our place. So I care less about the surrounding and this kind of place. I am not aware of any kind of poisonous flowers or herbs tree that shouldn’t be near my kids. So thanks a lot to the kind person who emailed me earlier.

sue + faris { the reception – ledang }

Sue & Faris (1)

About a year ago, I was contacted by a sweet girl from Batu Pahat. She wanted me to photograph her big day with a great guy coming all the way Terengganu. From that day, I was officially assign to photograph few others girlfriends of them. So far, three of them was shoot by me. And every wedding was overjoyed with these group of girlfriends. I am very thankful to them for being there as always. Oh, one of them is missing. Not really, you can see her face on Facetime in a picture below.

Well, their wedding was on Saturday in front of wonderful family and friends. It was quaint and cozy and touching. It was lovely and sweet and happy. Everything that a wedding should be. I felt so lucky to have been the one to come out and photograph their beautiful union, I laugh over and over again throughout the ceremony. Lucky for me I had an awesome wingman, Aidil, who did an amazing job videographing so many of the following awesome moments while I was busy dabbing my eyes. 🙂

Thank you, Sue & Faris, for being such a graciously warm + genuinely thoughtful couple. I know I can speak for both myself and Aidil when I say it was an absolute an honour to have been there. Happy honeymooning and see you back than!

sue + faris { the solemnization – ledang }

A sweet, kind couple with a shared beautiful love of good friends, good food, good travel, good family, good laughter. Sue and Faris’s celebration incorporated all of this and more… I loved being in and amongst all the cultural sitting in that room and it pleases me to no end that I got to witness their union last weekend. If any of you follow my blog from last year, you might notice them from 2 wedding ceremony before, Fida + Syed and also Fedzly + Akmar.

Sue’s attention to detail made for a most scrumptious treat for my camera (and the treats themselves were rather delicious, I must add), so enjoy all the ways in which she endeavored to make their solemnization gorgeous! 🙂 Wait a little while, I’ll upload few more photos of their big day at Ledang, Johor.
