farol + cake { post-wedding – melaka }

I totally love traveling for wedding. Even if this travel is only near my place, it permits me to actually take in a stunning new scene, and challenge myself to photograph possessions a bit differently. Farol + Cake post-wedding was a beautiful excuse to get away from lovely Ayer Hitam and photograph in one of the most gorgeous historical place in this country.

I think I’m incredibly lucky to have a profession where I get to do what I love. But at the end of the day, I know that it’s my clients, my brides, and my families, which actually make me feel very lucky. Sure, taking photos is fun – but having people appreciate me is somewhat I don’t take for granted and something I am so very grateful for.

Farol & Cake thank YOU for being such thoughtful, caring friends. It was such a pleasure to be there with you and celebrate you two on the most unique day of your lives. I loved being a part of your families and hearing everyone loves words about you both. I hope these photos help you remember the happy, stunning, pleasing day!

Maybe some other times we can come back to Melaka for another visit, for our most favorite mango juice, and the atmosphere.

Farol & Cake: I was overjoyed to be a part of your day and now a part of your lives. Everything about your magical wedding day was absolutely perfect, and the love you two share is overwhelming and pure. Sometimes people enter your life to make it better; change it forever. Farol & Cake are two of those people. They are kind, generous, thoughtful and in love.

Farol was a good friend of mine since we were still in primary school. We met around 20 years a go if my mind serve me right. Since then we were very close. When in high school, we spent the whole afternoon skateboarding, sometimes until late at night. We even travel to some other places to find a good place & other skateboarders. So after school, we were separated to find our future. But still, we always connected.

In 2007, Farol bought a camera. He was the only one around us who own a DSLR. That was the first time I had the feeling holding a decent camera. And from that moment, we started our photography learning & journey. He is now a very well know wedding photographer in Kuala Lumpur. I am still living in this small town.

In the midst of all of this learning and growing, I got to go and photograph the gorgeous Farol and Cake on their wedding day (see their portraiture session here!). Their love story is a beautiful one, and I loved every second of our time spent together. Cake: you are the sweetest, kindest, bravest bride (walking through fields where there could have been snakes! Oh my!). You’re gracious and loving, thoughtful and considerate. Thank you so much for trusting me every step of the way… it’s meant the world to me. And Farol: Cake is so incredibly lucky to have found someone as caring as you. You are what every groom should strive to be: a man who seeks to protect and love and cherish his beautiful wife. Thank you for being such a beautiful soul.

And thanks a lot to every photographer who accompanied us on that day. I couldn’t thank you guys. Hope we met again on next photographer’s wedding this year!

So it has been two weeks since my mom admitted in IJN. Early tomorrow she will be having Angiogram, operation where a camera will be inserted into her artery and blue colored dye injected to find which artery that blocking her heart from breathing normally. Once the dye injected, the camera will find which artery are block. From that test, they will decide what to do. Whether they have to do ballooning, stent or by pass. She is now in coronary care unit (CCU), an intensive care unit for heart. It’s been three days she were brought there. Her condition drastically changes rather than while she staying at normal ward. Her blood pressure decrease to 120/70. Her sugar level maintain at 6 to 8 and her heart beating normally, 60 to 70. So we hope with this kind of condition, she will be fine while having the surgery.

Oh last saturday, I was honored to be able to tag along with two awesome photographers Fadzli Azmi & Farol Moja from Kuala Lumpur. They were shooting a great garden wedding ceremony of Amirah & Zahril at Dsaji Felda Villa. The event started at 7.30pm until mid night. Although this is most challenging kind of event, but I was really enjoy the atmosphere. Oh maybe this is the first time I attend kind of events like this. I was just assisting Fadzli & Farol, so the chances for bride & groom couldn’t find my blog is very high since I forgot to mention my name and address to them. If any of you, by any chance know this two lovely couple, please mention to them.

I bring along 3 prime lenses, 35mm f2, 50mm 1.8 and 135mm f2 along with me. So I just left my flash light alone since I use high ISO most of the time along with these prime lenses. Even though these lenses were inexpensive, it works like wonders. But patience is all I needed, 35mm f2 is a super slow lens which work closely like a kit lens if we are talking about speed. But I love the sharpness and depth of field created by 35mm. I think it is great for a daylight shooting. Personally, I’m admire fast prime lens like 35mm 1.4 or 24mm 1.4. It just that I don’t have enough saving to get it. So I’m testing this cheap lens 35mm f2 so that I can calculate whether the focal length suit with my need or I should go for 24mm. If any of you have the experience using this two lenses, 24mm f/1.4 and 35mm f/1.4, please give me your suggestion. I am very happy to hear from you.
